About the Role
The Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Senior Project Manager is a senior consulting and business leader responsible for overseeing portfolios of Transportation Demand Management (TDM), mobility planning, and commuter behavior change projects while strengthening client relationships, developing staff, and contributing to the strategic growth of Galloway's National TDM Practice.
The Senior Project Manager provides leadership across multiple projects, clients, and project managers, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality services, strong financial performance, and exceptional client experiences. This role serves as a trusted advisor to key clients, leads major pursuits, mentors Project Managers, and partners with Practice Leadership to advance operational excellence, business development, and practice growth.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Leadership
Lead portfolios of TDM and mobility consulting projects from project initiation through closeout.
Provide strategic oversight of project scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, quality, and client satisfaction across multiple projects.
Guide Project Managers in resolving complex project challenges, scope changes, and delivery risks.
Ensure projects are delivered consistently with Galloway's quality standards and National TDM Practice methodologies.
Identify opportunities to improve project delivery, efficiency, and client value across the portfolio.
Client Leadership
Serve as the executive relationship manager for strategic client accounts and major initiatives.
Build long-term trusted advisor relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
Lead executive meetings, workshops, and presentations.
Anticipate client needs and develop proactive strategies that strengthen partnerships and expand services.
Resolve complex client issues while maintaining exceptional client satisfaction.
Financial & Business Leadership
Own the financial performance of assigned project portfolios, including:
Budget management
Profitability
Revenue forecasting
Resource planning
Portfolio financial reporting
Monitor utilization and staffing efficiency across the portfolio.
Lead pricing, scope development, contract negotiations, and change order strategies.
Balance client value with sound business decisions that support long-term profitability.
People Leadership & Staff Development
Provide leadership and mentoring to Project Managers, Coordinators, Analysts, interns, and consultants.
Support employee growth through coaching, career development, and regular feedback.
Partner with Team Managers and Practice Leadership on staffing, succession planning, and performance development.
Promote collaboration, accountability, and knowledge sharing across regional teams.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional excellence.
Technical Leadership
Provide technical oversight for:
Transportation Demand Management Plans
Mobility Strategies
Transportation Planning Studies
Marketing & Behavior Change Campaigns
Performance Measurement Programs
Mobility Hub Plans
Site Compliance Programs
Employer and Campus Mobility Programs
Review technical analyses, reports, recommendations, and presentations for quality and consistency.
Promote innovation through technology, AI-enabled workflows, standardized processes, and continuous improvement.
Business Development
Lead major proposal efforts, interviews, and responses to RFQs and RFPs.
Develop scopes of work, staffing plans, pricing strategies, and fee estimates.
Grow existing client accounts through strategic relationship management.
Maintain an active business development pipeline.
Represent Galloway through conferences, professional organizations, networking events, and client meetings.
Practice Development
Lead development of practice standards, templates, tools, and best practices.
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and project delivery.
Support implementation of National TDM Practice initiatives.
Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across offices and disciplines.
Champion innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

The estimated salary range for this position is $145,000-$170,000.
Please note, we're looking to hire a candidate in the San Francisco Bay Area or the Sacramento area.
